This is a group assignment in which we made static parts move to show how the printer can make a heart valve.
This exact printer does not exist which meant we had to find parts online and build the ones we couldn't find. A lot of work went into making materials since the goal was to have the final animation look really realistic.
I was in charge of the print process which meant trying out different techniques to see what would look the most realistic. We finally settled on a combination of a boolean which hides the heart valve from the start, then let's it be visible from bottom to top, while at the same time making a spiral follow the shape of the valve. Main problem was having the nossel follow the exact shape and here we had to compromise; either the timing was suffering or the the shape of the movement. I am though very happy with the result.
